Last August, Bethesda Software launched a remastered version of the first Quake on consoles and PC. A few months later, an update is deployed with quite significant additions to the program.

To celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Quake saga, id Software released the first episode of the franchise this summer. The graphics had then been revisited for the occasion and new content was also entering. In addition, handling was also optimized thanks to a freer camera. But Bethesda Softworks has other new things to offer us right now.

Bring out the weapons!

Thus, the recently deployed update adds a Horde mode to Quake. This one is playable from 1 to 4 players and invites us to explode waves of enemies that become more formidable over time. In solo, teammates are controlled by the AI. A new add-on called Honey is also included. It contains a new series of levels in which we must sink into the darkness to stem a deadly virus.

In short, fans of the saga will be delighted. Recall that Quake received its optimization for next-gen consoles last October. It can thus be browsed in 4K and up to 120 FPS on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
