Quake first of the name is available on Xbox One, PS4, Nintendo Switch and PC

It was expected but Bethesda Softworks did not have the time to announce it before it landed in the Xbox Game Pass (console, PC and Cloud) without warning. In effect, Quake 1 is available on all media now.


After several weeks of rumors, we got confirmation of Quake's return. During its launch live for QuakeCon 2021, Bethesda Softworks suffered a major technical bug which had the effect of delaying the festivities. At the same time, Microsoft has released a version of Quake 1 on Xbox via the Game Pass. This version is available for download now for subscribers.

Back in the arena

The original Quake is now playable in 4K in 16:9 aspect ratio. All with reworked models, dynamic lighting, better depth of field and the presence of anti-aliasing. In addition, this version contains the expansion packs "The Scourge of Armagon" and "Dissolution of Eternity". In addition, the “Dimension of the Past” and “Dimension of the Machine” DLCs created by MachineGames are included. This last extension is completely new.


Local multiplayer (4 players) and online (up to 8 players) is on the program, all in crossplay. This new version of Quake also arrived on PlayStation, Nintendo Switch and PC today. The game costs €9,99 and will be fully optimized for next-gen consoles soon. Finally, Quake II and Quake III Arena are included in the Game Pass PC.
