Decidedly, the latest update to date for the PS5 still holds a few surprises. Indeed, it seems that a boost in the performance of several games can be seen thanks to this patch.
At the moment, only two titles seem to be affected by this unexpected improvement.

The PS5 keeps us secret
Last week, Sony rolled out a major update for its console. Players can now use M.2 SSD storage expansion. Some optimizations at the interface level or even an increase in the maximum resolution on PlayStation Now games were also on the program. A little later, and without any announcement from the manufacturer, we discovered that this patch also removes the icon that appears in each screenshot.
Thus, it is not uncommon for an update to hide new features that are not necessarily mentioned in the official press release. And in this area, PlayStation has not done things by halves… Because Digital Foundry's YouTube channel has just unearthed an improvement in performance on several games following this same update.

An amazing little boost
So, once this famous update was installed, the experts at Digital Foundry noticed a performance gain on Control or even Devil May Cry V: Special Edition. The admittedly minimal difference is at the level of the FPS of these titles. The latter benefit from a few more frames per second, with a passage from 50 to 52 FPS on the Capcom game.
For the moment, it is difficult to know the precise origin of these improvements. A graphics driver update could potentially explain this phenomenon. Different optimizations made to the PS5's operating system can also potentially be the cause of this observation. It remains to be seen if other games are positively impacted.
