Available for a few days, the new Pokémon visibly sparked passion in many players.

The two remakes are a hit all over the world, including of course in Japan.

The new Pokémon are very successful (also) in Japan

Despite its quarter of a century of seniority (and yes, already), the Pokémon license still continues to trigger the passions of fans around the world. The proof again recently with Pokémon Sparkling Pearl and Sparkling Diamond, the two remakes launched on Nintendo Switch, which are enjoying quite insolent success in the United Kingdom, but also in Japan.



The sales figures revealed by Famitsu thus show 1 copies sold during the first three days of marketing. This is the second-best launch ever for a Nintendo Switch game in Japan, behind Animal Crossing: New Horizons and its 395 million sales during the same time frame.

Note that the figures released by Famitsu only take into account sales in physical format. On the hardware side, the launch of this Pokémon doublet boosted Switch sales, with more than 168 sales during the games' launch week, compared to 000 sales the previous week. In total, more than 87 million Nintendo Switch consoles have been sold in Japan.
