The partnership between the two brands had already been announced in May 2021 and it is now taking shape. Indeed, PlayStation players are now able to link their PSN account to their account Discord.

It's a busy start to the week for Sony Interactive Entertainment. This Monday, the Japanese manufacturer notably formalized the takeover of Bungie for 3,6 billion dollars. A new (small) upheaval in the video game industry… But the Japanese brand did not stop there since we now know the contours of its rapprochement with Discord.

The beginning of a beautiful friendship?

Currently, the hypothetical launch of a Discord application on PlayStation consoles is not on the agenda. For now, we have to be content with the possibility of linking PSN and Discord accounts. A feature that allows you to display the name of the game launched on PS4 or PS5 in the activities of instant messaging. The user can also publicly expose their PlayStation Network ID on Discord.

To access these new features, simply launch Discord, go to “User settings”, then to “Connections” and click on the PlayStation logo (see above). Enter your credentials and voila!
