Slowly but surely, People Can Fly is working on the thorny problem of disappearing inventory in Outriders.

An Anomaly that has marred the experience of many Corrupted since the game launched on April 1st, among other issues. It was during a long post on Reddit that the Polish studio explained the procedure to follow to remedy this particularly annoying problem for a looter shooter.

Sorting Accidentals

To restore missing inventories, People Can Fly will categorize affected players. These will be separated into three groups (A, B and C) in order to mark the seriousness of the problem of each group.

The first group will therefore include those for whom the game is strictly unplayable due to the disappearance of inventories and repeated error messages when connecting to the Outriders servers. This will of course be the priority group.

Group B is Corrupted being affected by missing inventories, but not to the point of rendering the game unplayable. Group C finally brings together all the other Altered, for whom the Anomaly has been relatively lenient.

An Alteration fixed soon

Once this categorization is done, People Can Fly has detailed the extent to which inventories will be restored. The members of group A should thus find their inventories intact, in their entirety. Group B will receive a more targeted treatment: up to 20 legendaries among the missing items will be restored, the rest will belong forever to nothingness. Group C, which has not been unduly affected by the Anomaly, will not be affected by these measures.

For the sake of transparency, the Polish studio has specified that such a restoration of inventories is not as simple as a restoration from a given point. Each profile must be scanned for inventory corruption, and this data must then be cross-checked against the items present in the inventory when it disappeared.

If People Can Fly has not given a precise date for this restoration of missing inventories, the studio is still asking players for a little patience. "We still need some time to make sure the process goes exactly as planned," said Toby Palm, the studio's chief community manager.

Patience is therefore required for those affected by this particularly troublesome Anomaly.
