Nintendo could skip the Switch Pro in favor of a new console

The output of a Nintendo Switch Pro (and therefore more powerful) is a rumor that has been circulating for a while. Since an admittedly minimal revision has already been made via the OLED model, the Japanese firm could ultimately go directly to the sequel.

Last year, while everyone was waiting for confirmation of a more powerful Nintendo Switch, the manufacturer finally opted for its famous OLED Switch which retains a similar power compared to the basic machine launched in 2017. Only the screen, internal memory and speaker quality have been upgraded (with the addition of a large adjustable stand).

The abandoned Pro?

Thus, the release of a real Nintendo Switch Pro seems compromised and analyst Piers Harding-Rolls seems to validate this theory with the GamesIndustry.biz site. The main interested party thinks that the Switch Pro will not arrive in 2022 and that it could even be abandoned in favor of a real next-gen console. The analyst expects to see this machine land at the end of 2024.

Of course, this is more of a prediction than real sourced information. It is therefore recommended to take what you have just read with a grain of salt. In addition, Piers Harding-Rolls thinks that the Switch will sell 21 million copies in 2022, in particular thanks to the OLED model. Only time will tell if he got it right.
