Monster Hunter Rise: PC version will use Denuvo (unfortunately)

Expected on January 12, 2022, the PC version of Monster hunter rise will come with the infamous Denuvo piracy protection.

Gaijin Hunter, YouTuber specializing in Capcom's successful Action-RPG franchise, talks about it in a video of the demo scheduled for today that he was able to preview.

Pirates without a hunting license

In his video aimed at presenting his first impressions of the demo of the PC version, we can thus have an overview of the game in 4K and the graphic improvements mentioned by Capcom during the Tokyo Game Show 2021. The opportunity to see the significant gain of fluidity that this version brings compared to that on Nintendo Switch released last March.

The YouTuber also discusses the disappointments encountered by Capcom to implement cross-play and cross-progression between the two platforms. Finally, he indicates that this PC version will use Denuvo, the protection against piracy so hated by players.

Often accused, sometimes rightly, of causing performance problems, this protection was already present on Monster Hunter: World and more recently on Resident Evil Village. The latter had experienced serious performance problems at its launch attributed to Denuvo, since the pirate version of the game seemed to be devoid of it.

On Monster Hunter: World, the Denuvo protection was finally removed by Capcom after some time. We bet that it will be the same for Monster Hunter Rise if performance problems caused by this protection were to emerge.

In any case, the PC version of Monster Hunter Rise is currently expected on January 12, 2022, and a demo will be downloadable on Steam during the day.
