After its extremely convincing flight on Xbox Series X|S, Microsoft Flight Simulator will resume its good habits by deploying new content. This is what the next World Update will do, the release date of which has just been slightly postponed.

Since its launch on PC, the 2020 version of Flight Simulator receives frequent World Updates. These focus on a very specific part of the planet (Japan, United States, Spain, etc.) to improve the rendering but also to add airports and other points of interest. Next week, a sixth patch of this type was to be deployed, but the Bordeaux studio Asobo will finally work on it for a few more days…

For ever higher quality flights

Thus, this World Update 6, which will be centered on Austria, Germany and Switzerland, has been postponed to September 7, 2021. Initially scheduled for August 24, the update seems to have suffered various technical problems and developers wish to "achieve a high level of quality". Nothing too worrying then...


The World Update in question will add four airports made by hand, about a hundred points of interest and the countries concerned will benefit from a better rendering thanks to photogrammetry. Landing challenges and new discovery flights will also be included.
