After a spectacular launch on PC in 2020, then on Xbox Series X|S last July, Microsoft Flight Simulator is already back. Indeed, Xbox has just announced a game edition of the year for the production signed Asobo.
This more complete version will offer all the content released to date, in addition to some new features.
It's time to fly away
This enriched edition will be launched on November 18 on all media. The good news is that all the new content that we will detail in this article will be accessible for free for players who have access to the basic version. The latter will be permanently withdrawn from sale once the game of the year edition is available. And budding pilots will have plenty to do!
First, Asobo is adding five new devices. The list consists of the Boeing F/A-18 Super Hornet, Velocity, Pilatus PC-6 Porter, CubCrafters NX Cub and Aviat Pitts Special S1S. But that's not all, since 8 airports are also on the program. This concerns three in Germany, three in Switzerland and two in the United States. Here is the exact list for the purists:

- Allgäu Airport Memmingen (EDJA) - Germany
- Kassel Airport (EDVK) - Germany
- Lugano Airport (LSZA) - Suisse

Even more possibilities
But we're not done yet. Indeed, 14 additional tutorials will be included in the game of the year edition. They will be accompanied by six new discovery flights that will fly over Mecca, Monument Valley, Singapore, Mount Cook, Freiburg im Breisgau and Helsinki. Cities in photogrammetry will also be there. This time, Asobo and Bing Maps stopped at Helsinki, Freiburg im Breisgau, Brighton, Derby, Eastbourne, Newcastle, Nottingham and Utrecht.
Finally, a few features will be added, such as early access to DirectX 12, a reworked weather system and a replay system in developer mode. Finally, remember that Microsoft Flight Simulator is available in the Xbox Game Pass consoles and PC.
