The already beautiful Metro Exodus is getting an upgrade on PC on May 6, but enjoying it will require a very solid machine.

The Enhanced Edition will also be free for owners of the original version, on Steam, GOG or the Epic Games Store. It includes many improvements to already superb graphics, but the price to pay could be colossal.

Improvements on all floors, but not for everyone

Among the improvements of this Enhanced Edition, we can notably cite exhaustive support for ray tracing, a wide choice of optimizations and support for DLSS 2.0 on compatible NVIDIA graphics cards.

Much to the chagrin of AMD fans however, this new version of Metro Exodus will not support FidelityFX Super Resolution, due to compatibility issues with the game's rendering techniques.

As said before, this version will be free for the owners of the initial game and the saves of this version can be transferred to the new version of the platform concerned. With the exception of that of the Microsoft Store, due to an encrypted cloud solution per product, making backups incompatible between the two versions.

The Metro Exodus Enhanced Edition will weigh its weight too: 72,2 GB, and the two expansions will weigh 1 GB and 6,4 GB respectively.

A very gourmet Enhanced Edition

To take advantage of this updated version of the excellent Metro Exodus, however, you will need to arm yourself with a particularly solid machine. If indeed it is possible to acquire the latest graphics cards from NVIDIA, subject to a shortage of stocks that is not about to improve any time soon.
