Mass Effect: Legendary Edition gives us a comparison video

After a first preview of the improvements made to this remastering, Bioware drives the point home with another video which specifies the optimizations which will be in the spotlight in Mass Effect: Legendary Edition.


Released 14 years ago, Mass Effect first of the name obviously needed a significant facelift before returning to current consoles and PC. Bioware has notably used artificial intelligence to optimize the visual rendering of this Legendary Edition which will also offer improvements on the two suites of this monument of the Western RPG. This week, the developers have posted a new video to illustrate these different points.

A new look at the galaxy

The excerpt in question therefore returns to all the adjustments made to Mass Effect: Legendary Edition. Obviously, the graphics of the sets or the particle effects have been significantly improved. The rendering of characters' skin and its reaction to different surfaces (like helmets) has also become more realistic.


More generally, most of the textures have been redone for this remaster and the 3D models are much more detailed. These improvements even extend to the shaders of the protagonists' eyes. In short, the experience promises to be much more immersive. Mass Effect: Legendary Edition will be released on May 14, 2021 on PS4, Xbox One and PC.
