Layoffs at the studio that handled Vampire The Masquerade: Bloodlines 2

The controversy surrounding the development of Vampire The Masquerade: Bloodlines 2 keep on going. After being pulled from the project, the Hardsuit Labs studio was hit by a wave of layoffs.

Last February, Paradox Interactive announced the postponement of Vampire The Masquerade: Bloodlines 2 to next year. If the delays are quite frequent in the video game, another element seems to indicate that the gestation of the title is going badly. Indeed, the publisher has simply put Hardsuit Labs, the studio that was in charge of development, on the sidelines. And the repercussions came quickly…

Employees already laid off

In an article published by Games Industry, we learn that several Hardsuit Labs employees have been forced out of the Seattle-based company. This is particularly the case of Anna C. Webster, a former screenwriter on the game. Moreover, the entire writing department did not return to work following the choice of Paradox Interactive.


For the moment, we do not know if this drastic reduction in the workforce concerns other teams. However, at least one producer was also fired. At this time, Hardsuit Labs has not officially commented on this situation.
