While Metal Gear Solid just disappeared from virtual shops, now a game signed Bandai Namco is approaching the "use by date".
Indeed, in a few months, it will no longer be possible to buy the Jump Force game in dematerialized format.
Jump Force: expiry date set for February 2022
On February 15, 2019, Bandai Namco launched the game Jump Force, an ambitious title that brought together characters from various very popular franchises such as One Piece, Bleach, Ken the Survivor, Saint Seiya or the timeless Dragon Ball. Today, Bandai Namco wanted to thank Jump Force players for their support. And for good reason, the publisher confirms that the game will no longer be marketed on digital platforms from February 8, 2022.
Jump Force will therefore soon reach its digital consumption deadline, since the game “will no longer be purchasable” digitally on PS4, Xbox 360, PC and Nintendo Switch from this date. In addition to the game, additional content will also be removed from the various respective virtual stores.
Worse still, Bandai Namco indicates that the majority of Jump Force's online features will be disabled as of August 25, 2022. We will therefore no longer be able to enjoy the joys of online battles, or even access online rankings. Obviously, the game will remain playable in single player, and those who have acquired content via DLC will be able to continue to use the content in question.
From February 8, 2022, those who want to start the Jump Force adventure will therefore have no choice but to buy the game in physical version. Although Bandai Namco did not explain the reason for stopping the marketing of Jump Force, rights issues would be involved, the publisher not having the desire / the possibility of renewing them to continue to exploit all the characters in the game.
