Jupiter Hell: massacre of demons in a tactical rogue-like scheduled for August 5

In early access for two years, Jupiter Bright, for an rogue-like turn-based, unmistakably reminiscent of a certain DOOM, is preparing to open its hellish gates on August 5th.

Developed by ChaosForge and published by Hyperstrange, Jupiter Hell is indeed a kind of spiritual successor to the father of the FPS without really being (to avoid legal disputes with Zenimax). Except that here, the action takes a little height compared to the legendary franchise from which it is inspired.

Just like DOOM, Jupiter Hell invites us to embody a single space Marine in a frantic hunt for demons with blows of all kinds of pop-guns and explosions. Unlike the iconic FPS, the action takes place in isometric view in a turn-based tactical rogue-like. Our Marine will therefore gain in power throughout the current game, in procedurally generated levels, but his death at the hands of the demons will inevitably require starting from scratch.

So think of a mix between DOOM, XCOM and Hades, all presented with a certain retro accent (notably thanks to a rendering close to an old CRT screen) and punctuated by a delicious heavy metal soundtrack that Mick Gordon himself certainly would not have denied. Sensitive souls abstain, Jupiter Hell is intended to be a particularly violent title, leaving nothing to interpretation as our Marine literally covers the corridors he walks in with the blood of demons.

After two years of early access and excellent feedback on Steam, Jupiter Hell is about to unleash Hell for an official release announced on August 5th on Steam, GOG and Humble Bundle. Visit the official website cited in the source below to learn more.
