Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice now benefits from an optimization on Xbox Series X|S

While waiting to find Senua in Hellblade II on PC and exclusively console on Xbox Series X|S, Ninja Theory has split an optimization of the first opus on these.

The opportunity to (re)discover this unique title and take advantage of the greatest power of the Xbox Series. On the program, among other things: ray tracing, 4K, a frame rate of up to 120 Hz and a game that is generally more beautiful than it was already on older generation consoles.

And happy fourth birthday to Senua!

Yesterday, Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice celebrated its four years. A brand new franchise camped by the British studio Ninja Theory which had impressed in more ways than one. First of all through its artistic direction, largely inspired by Scandinavian mythology, and a fine technical feat, already for the time.

To celebrate the anniversary of this refreshing and traumatic license, Ninja Theory has teamed up with Microsoft to announce today the release of an optimized version of Hellblade on Xbox Series X|S. A not so trivial announcement, since we already know that the second opus is expected at a still very uncertain date exclusively on Microsoft's new generation consoles, as well as on PC.

Helheim will have to wait on PS5

This Xbox Series optimized version of Hellblade first of the name therefore includes all the joys that this implies. Namely ray tracing, 4K, up to 120 frames per second, the ability to select which chapters to replay, as well as a resolution mode, detailed further in the summary table below, courtesy of Ninja Theory.

We can thus notice that ray tracing will only be available in Enriched mode on both consoles, which also promises more detailed textures, as well as better particle effects. This mode to discover Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice more beautiful than ever can be playable in dynamic resolution up to 4K and 30 fps on Series X, but only in 1080p at the same framerate on Series S. The promise of 120 Hz will be of its side only held in dynamic resolution up to 1080p on Xbox Series X, in Performance mode. The Series S will not be able to display the game in 4K, stopping at 1440p in Resolution mode, at 30 fps.

According to the game's official website, an update for the PC version is in development, but there are no plans yet to optimize Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice on other platforms. An announcement that does not necessarily please those wishing to find Senua on PS5, and which confirms the close collaboration between Ninja Theory and Microsoft for the future of its Scandinavian franchise.
