This is a page that will be turned very soon for the saga Halo. Indeed, the servers of several games released on Xbox 360 were to be stopped at the end of the year, but Microsoft chose to prolong the pleasure.

Currently, Halo Infinite is taking center stage at 343 Industries. We recently discovered the PC version, followed by a presentation of the single-player campaign this week. But Halo is also a beautiful love story with the Xbox 360. In the near future, games released on this machine will be stripped of their online features.

room for the future

Initially, 343 Industrie decided to close the servers for the following Xbox 360 games in December 2021: Halo 3, Halo 3: ODST, Halo 4, Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary, Spartan Assault and Halo Wars. On the Halo Waypoint site, the studio explains that it has finally decided to operate this closure on January 13, 2022. A small reprieve which will allow multiplayer play for a few additional days.

Of course, the previously mentioned episodes will remain playable after this date, but some online features (including matchmaking) will disappear. 343 Industries justifies itself by declaring that it wants to spend its time and energy on the future of Halo rather than on Xbox 360 games. This can be understood.
