The output ofHalo Infinite next December will have consequences for another title in the series. This is the famous Master Chief Collection whose seasonal system will be definitively stopped from 2022.

Since its debut in 2015, the compilation of all Halo games through the fourth installment has received new content through seasonal updates orchestrated by 343 Industries. The latest, for example, brought a new multiplayer map for Halo 3 or even legendary type armor. But this model will very soon be abandoned by the developers.

The beginning of the end for the collection?

343 Industries has just confirmed that Season 8, which will roll out this fall, will be the last. The studio will move away from the seasonal model by opting for smaller and more frequent updates. These free patches will still provide additional features and new content. Game stability will be constantly improved and various fixes may be applied.



In short, Halo: The Master Chief Collection will not disappear in 2022, but 343 Industries will mainly focus its efforts on Halo Infinite. The latter will land on Xbox One, Xbox Series X | S and PC on December 8.
