While the multiplayer of Halo Infinite will be approached by a few lucky ones this week, a second week of technical testing is already planned by 343 Industries.

While the first technical test, scheduled for September 24-27, will focus mainly on arena deathmatches between two teams of four flesh-and-blood Spartans, the next one will be the opportunity to rub shoulders with much more in the famous Big Team Battle mode. The deathmatch mode from the previous week will also return, as well as the training mode at the Academy, or even a preview of the seasonal Battle Pass. This second week of festivities will begin on September 30 and end on October 4.

BTB company

Probably one of the most iconic modes of the legendary FPS franchise, Big Team Battle will be part of the game when Halo Infinite launches on December 8th. But 343 Industries did not content itself with identically resuming the venerable game mode opposing in the past two teams of eight fighters. The studio sees things even bigger this time and increases the counter to two teams of twelve.

Such a change has thus led to a reorganization of the way of approaching the BTB, in particular with regard to the rhythm of the games, the size of the maps and the tools available to the Spartans. 343 Industries intends to make this game mode a true Halo-style battlefield. It will therefore be possible to bring in vehicles or weapons from the air, so that each Spartan can fulfill his favorite role.

The studio also imagined new objectives for the BTB, beyond the classic deathmatches and capture the flag. For the technical test session from September 30 to October 4, three objective modes will be available on a single map. This will be an opportunity to test the solidity of the changes made to the BTB as well as those of the servers. 343 Industries will also take the opportunity to gather valuable data to improve the experience ahead of the upcoming release of Halo Infinite, including bug fixes.

Enlist, they said

If registrations for the first technical test session, announced from September 24 to 27, are already closed, hope is not lost for the second. As with the testing phases on the Master Chief Collection, it is imperative to be registered in the Halo Insider program. From there, you will need to provide the necessary information so that 343 Industries can send you an invitation to download the corresponding technical test version.

The lucky winners will receive an email for each session at the address indicated on the program registration page 24 hours before the start of the test phase, on PC as well as on Xbox One or Xbox Series X|S. Enough to give you the time necessary to download the technical preview, before the possibility of searching for games opens the next day.

This party search will be subject to a specific schedule each day: from 19 p.m. to 23 p.m. (Paris time), then from 2 a.m. to 6 a.m. Starting September 27 at 6:30 a.m., it will no longer be possible to search for games. Hostilities will resume on September 4, when it will be possible to download a new version of the technical preview. The search for matches will open the next day, according to the same times as the first session, until October XNUMX.

The second technical test session will then close its doors definitively at 19 p.m. the same day. However, it is not impossible for those who have not been invited that other technical test sessions will open between now and the game's release, announced for the time being on December 8 on PC, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S.
