The Halo saga is celebrating its twentieth anniversary today, an opportunity for Microsoft to reveal some figures…

Remember that the Halo epic started on November 15, 2001 (in the United States), with Halo: Combat Evolved on Xbox.

Over 80 million Halos worldwide

A few hours before the big party to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Xbox, Microsoft reveals some (glorious) figures concerning Halo. Indeed, if the very first Xbox was launched on November 15, 2001 in the United States, this is also the case for the very first Halo: Combat Evolved, which had then accompanied the Microsoft console.

Thus, according to Microsoft, the Halo saga now totals a total of 81 million copies sold worldwide. Remember that if the license currently has a total of five main episodes, players were also able to enjoy Halo Wars, ODST, Reach and Spartan Assault a few years ago.

Those who want to reconnect with the origins of the saga can also take advantage of the excellent compilation The Master Chief Collection, which benefits from extensive optimization for the new Xbox Series.

Obviously, we can easily imagine that the sales scores of the Halo saga will increase on December 8, with the highly anticipated launch of a certain Halo Infinite. Note that a TV series based on the license is still scheduled for 2022, and that we could well hear about it tonight.
