Halo: Combat Evolved: return to the origins of the franchise in 8K and ray tracing

While the launch of the campaigns only d'Halo Infinite is imminent, what better than to (re)discover the opus that propelled the franchise to the stars twenty years ago, unrecognizable in 8K and ray tracing ?

Using the remastered version of this monumental FPS developed in 2001 by Bungie, the YouTube channel Digital Dreams offers us a magnificent journey full of nostalgia, while waiting for the return of Master Chief under the aegis of 343 Industries.

Walk around Halo

After its superb video on The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild or that on Forza Horizon 5, Digital Dreams is interested this time in another Microsoft flagship exclusive: Halo: Combat Evolved. Present at the launch of the very first Xbox, this title was to revolutionize FPS on consoles and place itself as a monument of video games.

Even 20 years later, the aura of the franchise's first installment continues to shine, and it's all the more true in this video from Digital Dreams. The remastered version of this venerable title in the Master Chief Collection had already given it a makeover, but the title here is almost unrecognizable in 8K, ray tracing and Ultra textures. The YouTube channel has of course magnified the whole thing with its Beyond All Limits homemade Reshade, for an impressive result for such an old title.

In order to achieve this result smoothly, you will need at least an RTX 3090 graphics card, a Ryzen 9 3900X processor, 32 GB of RAM and an M.2 NVMe SSD. A great way to come full circle, the return of Master Chief twenty years later being announced on December 8 on PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and Game Pass.
