In preparation for several months, the second chapter of the excellent modHalf-Life: Alyx created by Wim Buytaert titled Return to Rapture is finally available.

Even more ambitious than the already very solid first chapter, this mod is a vibrant tribute to the masterpiece of the FPS genre that is BioShock, masterfully adapted to the excellent VR game that is the title. of Valve.

Will you take some more Plasmid, Alyx?

A year ago almost to the day, a mod of excellent quality inspired by BioShock on the initiative of a single person became a campaign in its own right. Called Return to Rapture, it brilliantly mixed the gameplay and assets of Half-Life: Alyx to offer us a more immersive dive than ever in the legendary underwater city of Andrew Ryan.

Wim Buytaert aimed to offer an even crazier second chapter that would add mechanics inherent to BioShock such as powers, assets and enemies paying homage to the work of Ken Levine. For this, the modder surrounded himself with a talented team and founded the Patient 8 Games studio.

The fruit of their labor is now finally accessible for free via a page on the Steam Workshop, cited in source below. As you can see from the gameplay video above, Patient 8 Games has clearly been busy offering a VR experience that masterfully mixes Half-Life: Alyx and BioShock.

If you have the title of Valve and you liked visiting Rapture, this mod promising 24 levels and a lifespan of about fifteen hours is to try urgently… “please…”.
