The free game Opening Desk Jobs probably hid some surprises from us. Data was dug up this week by a netizen and it appears to refer to several games that Valve might be making right now.

To celebrate the launch of its Steam Deck, the firm led by Gabe Newell has developed a small game called Aperture Desk Job in parallel. The latter, which takes place in the universe of Portal, is supposed to reinvent the concept of walking simulators through a short free adventure that places the player behind a desk. But this kind of demo may be hiding secrets…

Heavy in preparation at Valve?

For example, YouTube user Tyler McVicker made discoveries in Aperture Desk Job files. There he found obvious references to four games that may be in development at Valve. First, we have Citadel, a spin-off to the Half-Life series that would mix RTS and FPS genres with ideas drawn from Left for Dead, Alien Swarm and of course Half-Life.

Other titles discovered would also include a sequel to Half-Life: Alyx, a port of Counter-Strike: Global Offensive Source 2, and a normally canceled Portal paint game. It remains to be seen if these four games are indeed in development or if it is simply a red herring. Only Valve can confirm this...
