Last March, the talented Belgian modder Wim Buytaert spoiled us with a real rehabilitation of the excellent FPS BioShock first of the name on the no less excellent VR masterpiece from Valve, Half-Life: Alyx. But he obviously does not intend to stop in such a good way, because a chapter II in this completely free campaign is already in preparation.
Now with a team of eight people, Wim Buytaert intends to make his project even more ambitious than it already is, in particular by adding iconic enemies such as the Big Daddies as well as certain well-known weapons from the original BioShock game by 2K Games.

While Chapter I of Return to Rapture boasted nearly 200 assets from the original game upon release, courtesy of 2K Games, Chapter II will be an even more impressive homage, boosting the asset count to 3. levels present in the original mod, its sequel will add more than twenty.
Instead of the usual members of the Cartel present in the original version of Half-Life: Alyx, we will be able to meet the famous Splicers of the original BioShock, equipped with their own artificial intelligence. As mentioned above, the iconic Big Daddies will also be there and will of course protect their famous Little Sisters.
There will also be auto-vendors, which can be supplied with a currency that will replace the resin of Half-Life: Alyx, as well as a system to make ammo on the fly for various well-known BioShock weapons. To make this true game within the game even more immersive, new voice actors will be introduced, as well as improved textures and a revamped physics engine for the occasion.
No release date has yet been announced for this extremely ambitious project, but we will follow its progress with certain hope and interest.
