Expected at the end of the year on consoles and PC, Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - The Definitive Edition is the subject of new leaks.
After the successes of each title included in the trilogy, it's the turn of the PC configurations required and what the PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S versions should bring, especially visually.
Higher PC requirements than GTA V
If we are to believe the user alloc8or on GTA Forums, who had already unveiled said successes, the PC requirements of the remastered trilogy could be more demanding than those of GTA V.
Minimum system requirements:
- Processor: Intel Core i5-2700K or AMD FX-6300
- Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760 2GB or AMD Radeon R9 280 3GB
- RAM: 8 Go
- Disk space required : 45 Go
- Operating system: Windows 10.
Recommended configuration:
- Processeur : Intel Core i7-6600K ou AMD Ryzen 5 2600
- Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 4GB or AMD Radeon RX 540 4GB
- RAM: 16 Go
- Disk space required: 45 GB
- Operating System: Windows 10
Considering the fact that these required configurations are higher than those of GTA V, we can imagine that the trilogy will offer a significant graphic overhaul compared to the original opuses. As a reminder, these three episodes had already been ported to smartphones, as will this Definitive Edition in 2022.
If this data could suggest that it will be a lazy remaster, these PC requirements may be a sign to the contrary. Or the sign of poor optimization, but we will have to wait to see the trilogy in action to know for sure.
An edition “updated for a new generation”
Another element that could suggest that this remastered trilogy will make a real difference: alloc8or has provided a preview of what can await us on PC and next-gen consoles. In a message following the required PC configurations, he indeed quoted an alleged leaked press release.
In this press release, it is stated:
“Play the classic GTAs that defined the genre of open-world gaming updated for the next generation, with improvements across the board. These include upgrades to lighting and environment, high-resolution textures, increased draw distance, GTA V-inspired controls and aiming system, and more.
