Although we're focusing on five games in particular, this is of course not an exhaustive list, but rather a way for you to find out what bargains you shouldn't miss before May 6th. Many other great Japanese games are on sale this week, which you can check out in detail on Steam or via the source listed at the end of this selection.

What better game to start this selection than the excellent NieR: Automata, published by Square Enix and developed by Platinum Games, under the pen of the brilliant Yoko Taro?

This is an Action-RPG in a semi-open world allowing us to embody androids in a post-apocalyptic world dominated by machines.

Beyond a punchy gameplay, it is above all a heartbreaking story, a divine soundtrack and particularly poignant themes in our time that make this title a true masterpiece.

A pure pearl which, moreover, should soon receive an update making it even more pleasant to play than ever.

Another undeniable game to watch during these Golden Week Sales: the latest baby from the hilarious Hideo Kojima, Death Stranding.

With a cast worthy of a Hollywood production and a deeply complex scenario, dealing with themes that are more topical than ever, Death Stranding is a constant journey.

We embody Sam Porter Bridges (Norman Reedus), a delivery man in a post-apocalyptic world responsible for reconnecting the United States. The game thus introduces an online mode like never seen before, where everyone's efforts facilitate everyone's progress.

A great way to connect players with each other, even more so in this particular time. A truly unique title and an experience to live to believe.

Monster Hunter World: Iceborne Master Edition at -42% (34,99 euros instead of 59,99 euros)

Impossible not to recommend Monster Hunter: World, one of Capcom's most popular licenses in recent years. The Master Edition allows you to acquire both the basic game with its already gargantuan lifespan, and its extension, which is just as crazy in terms of content.

Monster Hunter: World puts us in the shoes of a hunter tasked with defeating many creatures threatening the ecosystem of the New World. For this, a multitude of weapons that our hunts will improve will be offered to us, in breathtaking battles each time akin to boss fights.

The Iceborne expansion has further perfected an already exceptional formula, notably with the addition of an incredibly useful tool for hanging on to monsters and adding new abilities to an already extensive list for each weapon.

Pending the arrival of Monster Hunter Rise on PC in 2022, World is currently showing itself as the best Monster Hunter experience ever released, and is even accessible to neophytes. A title not to be missed under any circumstances for fans of dantesque combat.

Yakuza: Like a Dragon at -30% (41,99 euros instead of 59,99 euros)

The iconic Yakuza franchise recently received what looks like its finest title with Yakuza: Like a Dragon. An RPG really like no other, putting us in the shoes of Ichiban Kasuga, a young yakuza recruit left for dead.

However, he manages to survive and goes in search of revenge, in a scenario as epic as it is completely barred, giving pride of place to spectacular fights which sometimes make absolutely no sense. And that's why we love this game.

Beyond the fights, many additional activities that a certain Shenmue would not have denied will be open to us, offering us a little “live my yakuza life” side.

A title in all respects out of the ordinary, to keep in mind before the end of the Golden Week Sales on May 6th.

The brilliant Koji Igarashi, one of the legendary founders of the Castlevania franchise, returns to his first love with Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night.

A beautiful 2,5D Metroidvania Action-RPG putting us in the shoes of Miriam, marked by a curse gradually crystallizing her body. To prevent this, she will have to face many creatures within a labyrinthine castle in order to confront Gebel, an old friend corrupted by the same disease.

Taking on the nobility of the Castlevania series, Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night displays a deeply complex gameplay that gives pride of place to extensive character construction. All in a wide variety of places, punctuated by the superb music of Michiru Yamane, known in particular for his exceptional work on the Castlevania series.

An exceptional title in all respects, supplemented since its release by no less than 13 free DLCs completing an already substantial formula at the outset.
