Since the announcement of God of War: Ragnarok during the PlayStation Showcase, Kratos and Atreus are back in force on the front of the stage and intend to conquer new media, in particular the PS5. However, a leak from NVIDIA had hinted that the reboot de God of War, released in 2018, could be released on PC.

As was made official last week during a week full of announcements from Sony, God of War will be released on PC, via Steam and the Epic Games Store, next January. But, just recently, Sony made a surprising announcement regarding this port.

Nixxes already busy with another project?

We know that the Santa Monica studio is very attached to its flagship license, so much so that the latter would not entrust it to just anyone. However, if we rightly thought that the PC port, supervised by the parent studio, would be in the hands of Nixxes Software, recently acquired by Sony, the reality is quite different.

Indeed, Sony said in a statement sent to the ArsTechnica site that the PC port of God of War was not supported by Nixxes, but by another studio specializing in porting, namely Jetpack Interactive.

The name of this studio, located in Vancouver, may not mean anything to you, but it has made a name for itself in the video game world by working on the porting of well-known games for other publishers such as Electronic Arts, for Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare 2, or even 2K, for NBA Live 14 and 15. Similarly, the Jetpack Vancouver teams have proven their know-how by providing technical support for the PC version of Dark Souls.

A reassuring collaboration list that makes us think that the port of God of War, even if it is not developed in-house, is in good hands. Furthermore, this could indicate that Nixxes has been awarded other porting projects on behalf of Sony.
