Sucker Punch can be proud of Ghost of Tsushima, its brand new exclusive license to Sony consoles, which has sold more than 8 million copies worldwide to date.

Sony indeed took advantage of CES 2022 not only to present the characteristics of PSVR 2, its new VR headset exclusive to the PS5, and Horizon VR: Call of the Mountain, but also to share the sales figures of this game which invites you to trip in more ways than one.

Feudal Japan: the hot new destination

Since its PS4-exclusive release in July 2020, Ghost of Tsushima and its protagonist Jin Sakai have come a long way. If many found that it lacked originality in its gameplay, as we indicated in our test, no one remained indifferent to the universe filled with poetry that it depicts.

Gamers have obviously been much more forgiving than critics, given the sales figures announced by Sony and the game's numerous nominations at The Game Awards 2020. It was even crowned "Game of the Year for spectators". during this exclusively remote ceremony.

To a certain extent, Ghost of Tsushima Director's Cut, released last August, undoubtedly contributed to the total of 8 million copies sold, by offering a solid extension and above all a version adapted to Sony's new generation console.

Note that Spider-Man: Miles Morales far outperforms these sales figures, notably appearing in the top 5 best-selling games on PS4 in 2021. But this is a much older and popular license. The success of Ghost of Tsushima is thus all the more impressive and pleasing for Sucker Punch.
