The players of Genshin impact are going to start the year off right. miHoYo announced during a dedicated livestream that its free-to-play would be upgraded to version 2.4 from the beginning of January.
An update rich in content which will be marked by the arrival of new characters and a new region.
A new area and a free character
The year is going to start off with a bang for Genshin Impact players. From January 5, 2022, the Chinese free-to-play will host version 2.4, "Ephemeral colors in flight". With it will come Enkanomiya, a secret area of ​​Inazuma buried beneath the calm waters of Watatsumi Island and home to the ruins of an ancient civilization. It will bring its share of new challenges, chests, new enemies (including a double boss Cryo and Electro) and much more. Players will be able to explore it day and night thanks to a dedicated mechanism.
Update 2.4 will also bring the return of the Liyue Lantern Festival with dedicated events including fireworks and shadow lantern riddles. It will also include a new Archon quest around the Chamber of Jade, but it will be especially marked by a nice gift for players. By completing certain challenges, they will be able to get a four-star character from the Liyue region, including Yun Jin, for free. 10 wishes will also be offered during the event.

Two new characters
We already knew that Shenhe will be the next five-star character to join the game. Coming from a family of exorcists but raised as a disciple of Adepts, the heroine uses the Cryo element and a polearm. She can summon a talismanic spirit while her elemental proficiency and unleashing increase team Cryo damage. As for her, Yun Jin will be a four-star Geo-type character who wields a spear. She will be a support of choice for players who favor normal attacks. His elemental skill will allow him to protect himself and charge up a powerful strike.
