This is without a doubt the most awaited release on the side of Xbox at the end of the year (yes, even more thanHalo Infinite !). Forza Horizon 5 promises to offer us gargantuan content and Playground Games has therefore decided to take stock of what awaits us.

Through a FAQ published on the official website of the license, the British studio returned to all the features and modes included in this fifth opus.

The many editions of Forza Horizon 5

First of all, let's recall the essential points. Forza Horizon 5 is due out on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC on November 9, 2021. The game will also be available on Xbox Cloud Gaming for Game Pass Ultimate subscribers. In addition, players who choose to pre-order the Premium Edition will be able to start traveling the roads of Mexico from November 5 via early access.

At launch, Forza Horizon 5 will be available in several editions already available for pre-order from the Microsoft Store.

Note that all bonus items included in the Premium Edition can be purchased separately or through the Premium Extensions Pack at 49,99 euros. Also, Playground Games has confirmed that Forza Horizon 5 will not have a free demo on the Microsoft Store.

A vast program

Players will have plenty to do in this fifth episode. Starting with the Horizon campaign that will allow us to take part in expeditions throughout Mexico. For its part, Horizon Arcade will contain 130 challenges / mini-games covering a total of 12 game modes.

In terms of features, Playground Games has developed a new AI assistant in order to track player status while helping them connect with the rest of the community. The PvP experience will also be refined. As for the Horizon Tour tool, it is used to meet other players from all over the world to face their Drivatar.

On the personalization side, the British studio has not done things by halves. Indeed, we will be able to customize the vehicles at will thanks, for example, to the addition of 100 new rims. The developers have identified hundreds of visual improvements and several thousand optimizations on car performance. A social currency has also been incorporated to reward positive user actions and gifts can even be sent.

How does it ride?

Let's move on to an area that will be particularly scrutinized by players, that is to say the performance of the game on the various media. Forza Horizon 5 will run in 4K at 30 FPS on Xbox Series X and 1080p at 30 FPS on Xbox Series S. On both of these machines, a performance-boosting mode at 60 FPS will be accessible. The resolution will then be revised downwards. On PC, here are the minimum requirements.

Forza Horizon 5 will use the Smart Delivery feature which will automatically download the best version available to your console of choice. The game will also support cross-play and cross-save on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Windows 10 PC, and Xbox Cloud Gaming. The Steam version will not be cross-save compatible. Finally, mods will be disabled on PC and virtual reality will not be supported either.
