After having brought the video game industry to its feet (or almost), Fortnite should set out to conquer new media… starting with a feature film which is currently in preparation at Epic Games.
If Epic is at the heart of a tedious lawsuit against Apple and Google, the company led by Tim Sweeney is already thinking about the future of Fortnite. And the more or less close future of the license will not be exclusively in gaming. Thus, according to rumors relayed by the site The Information, a film inspired by the famous Battle Royale is currently under study.
Who to stop Fortnite?!
According to the first information (which is ultimately quite few), Epic wants to extend Fortnite to other formats. Discussions have already taken place regarding a feature film of which we are unaware for the moment. We don't even know if pre-production has started. But what is certain is that Epic Games surrounds itself with veterans of the seventh art industry to support its project.
Thus, the company recently recruited three former employees of Lucasfilm. Among them, we find a certain Jason McGatlin, who held the role of executive producer on all the Star Wars films made under the leadership of Disney. The ambition is therefore real for this Fortnite feature film.
