After un remake adored by players and critics, Final Fantasy VII will be making a comeback through a rather special spin-off. Entitled The First Soldier, this episode finally has a precise release date.
While waiting for the second part of the famous remake, Square Enix will expand the universe of Final Fantasy VII a little more at the end of the year. Indeed, mobile media will soon welcome a certain Final Fantasy VII: The First Soldier on their store. This is a battle royale whose events take place before those of the initial game.
Cloud attacking our smartphones
In a recent press release, the Japanese publisher announced the launch date for The First Soldier. It will land on November 17, 2021 on iOS and Android. For the occasion, the introductory cutscene has been posted on YouTube (see at the top of this article). The Japanese studio Ateam Entertainment is in charge of the project.
It is still on our mobile devices that Final Fantasy VII: Ever Crisis will arrive in 2022. This free-to-play (with in-app purchases) will retrace the epic of Cloud and his companions in several chapters. The gameplay will be reviewed for the occasion, and additional stories (Crisis Core, Before Crisis, Advent Children…) will even be added. This should appeal to fans.
