At the beginning of November, Square Enix announced the postponement of the extension endwalker in destination to Final Fantasy XIV. While waiting for its launch next week, the Japanese publisher is warning players about future queues.

Last October, we learned that Final Fantasy XIV had more than 24 million players. An impressive figure which can, unfortunately, lead to overcrowded servers, creating endless queues before you can play. New World had experienced a similar problem when it launched, and Square Enix's MMO may well be experiencing a similar situation.

Seats will be expensive

Thus, for the release of Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker on December 7, the developers have carried out a server optimization. Unfortunately, due to the worldwide shortage of semiconductors, Square Enix has not been able to create new Worlds in order to accommodate more and more players. The teams therefore warn that heavy traffic jams could occur when connecting to the game.

“While we were unable to add new worlds, we have implemented all other possible measures... We will further improve our monitoring of the situation to allow as many players as possible to connect, ”says the studio.

Among the measures taken, we find the automatic disconnection of players after 30 minutes of inactivity and the impossibility of creating a new character in an already overcrowded world.
