Made official as part of the Square Enix E3 2021 conference, the compilation Final fantasy pixel remaster is about to land in a few days, at least from July 28 for the first three parts of the saga, on iOS, Android and Steam.

What about a release on home consoles? Asked during a question and answer session, Square Enix does not close the door to an arrival on other platforms. However, nothing is certain, and only precise data can tip the balance.

An arrival on consoles: yes, but on one condition!

With this unpublished compilation, Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster wishes to bring back to life the first six original opuses, released on NES and SNES between 1987 and 1994, through improved versions. An initiative put in place by Square Enix, which believes that there are fewer opportunities to easily play these games, due to their original support.

For the occasion, Square Enix has put the dishes in the big by calling on big names in the license. Among them, we find Kazuko Shibuya, illustrator on many games stamped Final Fantasy, who will reproduce the visuals of the characters for the various remasters.

The pinnacle of nostalgia, Nobuo Uematsu will also be present to supervise the music and the rearrangements of the six remasters in order to stick as closely as possible to the original sound effects. This good news may console some upset fans to learn that this compilation will only be released on PC and mobile.

Nevertheless, all is not lost for fervent defenders of home consoles since Square Enix revealed, during this famous session of questions and answers, that the six games could be released on other platforms if the demand is large enough. The ball is in the court of the players who now know what remains to be done!
