As we slowly begin this month of September and as the first feedback and opinions on Far Cry 6, the next installment in the franchise from Ubisoft has just revealed the required and optimal configurations for PC support.
However, Ubisoft did not just launch, on the fly, the different possible configurations to run the game. A trailer dedicated to the PC version was published in particular to illustrate the performance and technologies that bring the game to life. Yara Island.

Freedom and performance have a price
First of all, Ubisoft invites players to have the appropriate operating system, namely Windows 10 64 bits (version 20H1 or more recent) before taking part in the fight to free the island of Yara from the yoke of the dictator. Antón Castillo, the antagonist of this episode, played by actor Giancarlo Esposito. Similarly, compatibility with DirectX 12 is also required.
Overall, the minimum specs needed to run Far Cry 6 are reasonable. Without ray tracing, the game displays three types of configurations, ranging from the minimum to the most recommended (low, high, ultra), allowing access to a resolution ranging from 1p to 080p and a refresh rate that oscillates between 1 and 440FPS.
Through the computer graphics released by Ubisoft, we understand that the game will require more sophisticated hardware to benefit, with the activation of ray tracing, from solid performance. Indeed, the Ultra configurations in 1p/440 FPS and 60K/4 FPS will require you to equip yourself, at your choice, with an ADM Ryzen 30 5X or 5600 7X processor, or even, on the Intel side, an i5800 -5K 10600 GHZ or an i4.1-7K 10700 GHZ.
On the graphics card side, we stay on an AMD RX 6900 XT or RX 6800, both at 16 GB, or, for NVIDIA card enthusiasts, on an RTX 3070 8GB or an RTX 3080 10 GB for the maximum configuration. Note that Far Cry 6 also features ADM's oversampling technology, FidelityFX Super Resolution.
