Update: In a tweet, producer Seitaro Kimura clarified that eFootball 2022 refers to the first season of content for the platform, which is simply called eFootball. The new features will be deployed over the months via free updates or via premium options (therefore paying).

Konami has just detailed the launch of its simulation eFootball 2022. The latter will land this September with starving content. Fortunately, major updates are already scheduled.



Small last-minute change in marketing since the Japanese publisher has chosen to rename eFootball to eFootball 2022. Nothing revolutionary for this free-to-play title whose release date is now set for September 30, 2021 on PlayStation consoles, Xbox but also on PC. Alas, the content of the game will not be famous when it arrives…

A demo before the full game

At launch, eFootball 2022 will feature the following nine teams: FC Barcelona, ​​Bayern Munich, Arsenal, Juventus, Manchester United, Flamengo, River Plate, São Paulo and Corinthians Paulista. The latter will be able to play in six stadiums including the legendary Camp Nou, the Allianz Arena, Old Trafford, the Emirates Stadium, the Allianz Stadium and the eFootball Stadium. Friendly matches will be available against the AI ​​or against a friend locally or online. Cross-generation play (PS5 vs PS4 and Xbox Series X|S vs Xbox One) will be there.


This fall, the first major patch will bring additional modes and player types. As for the Creative Teams section, it will allow you to choose a team among more than 600 officially licensed. Finally, the mobile version will come in the form of an update to PES 2021. It will run on a revamped version of the Unreal Engine.
