E3 2022: the physical show once again canceled

Despite what was announced by the organizers last June, E3 2022 will once again do without its physical gathering in Los Angeles. Like the 2021 edition, the next one will be done exclusively remotely.

Since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic, almost no event dedicated to the video game industry has been able to be held in person. The only exception being the Game Awards 2021 which had exceptionally welcomed the public. If 2022 promised to be a return to normal for all large gatherings, reality has unfortunately come back to our "good" memories.

Another edition at a discount?

In a press release published on the VentureBeat site, the ESA (the body responsible for E3) confirmed that the 2022 edition will be digital only. The physical show, however promised last year, has been canceled due to the risks linked to Covid-19. The organizers say they are still “eager to announce more details” regarding the future of E3.

It is also during the summer that the Summer Game Fest 2022 produced by Geoff Keighley will take place. The site for this summer event has just been put online and additional information will be communicated shortly.
