News around the world of Dying Light is quite rich lately. Between the postponement of the second part, subtitled Stay human, the different formats that keep fans of the license waiting for the official launch and the arrival of the first part on Switch in a Platinum edition, there is plenty to do. This is good, because Techland seems to want to add a layer.

Yet released in 2015, the first part of Dying Light returns to the heart of the news. Not only thanks to its release on Switch, but also through clues around an arrival on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.

A new dose of zombies on next-gen

Some time ago, we learned the postponement of Dying Light 2 Stay Human, going from a release scheduled for December to a launch set for February 4, 2022. But it seems that Techland is making players wait until the arrival of the second part by giving the first episode a next-gen version.

This is at least what the data found with the ESRB (Entertainment Software Ratings Board) suggests. The organization would have recently returned its classification verdict for the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S versions, granting it a “Mature 17+”, i.e. a PEGI 18, as was the case for the previous generation versions.

This index suggests a relatively quick exit. However, no comment has yet been given by Techland on this subject, even though the development studio announced that information would be "soon" given on this subject, because certain points are to be clarified, including the free or not of the update for owners of the original versions.

Still, this new version, requested by fans of the license since the launch of next-gen consoles, is good news, especially in terms of visual improvements and backward compatibility, given that on PS5, the rate of 'IPS remains stuck at 30.
