The highly anticipated strategy game inspired by the fascinating universe of Frank Herbert, Dune : Spice Wars, will soon be available to everyone on Steam, via early access.
So get ready for an uplifting journey to Arrakis and an all-out Spice War on April 26, with a new faction to boot!
Early departure for Dune
For the first time in twenty years, courtesy of Shiro Games and Funcom, a game in the Dune universe will take us on the mythical desert planet with gameplay that is original to say the least. The ambition of Dune: Spice Wars is indeed to mix two genres that everything seems to oppose: real-time strategy and 4X.
Several well-known factions from Frank Herbert's universe will have to wage a full-scale war to control Dune's precious resource: the Spice. Speaking of factions, Shiro Games and Funcom had another surprise to go along with the announcement that the game will be releasing in Early Access very soon.
In addition to the Atreides, Harkonnens and Smugglers, the Fremen will indeed join the fight to defend their planet! The promise of gameplay radically different from other factions from across the galaxy.
The upcoming release, even in early access, of a Dune strategy game is already a phenomenon in itself. However, Funcom holding the exclusive rights to adapt the license, a multiplayer survival game in the same universe is also planned, this time as much on PC as on consoles.
Fans of Frank Herbert's cult universe therefore have reason to rejoice for the future, starting on April 26 to discover Dune: Spice Wars!
