Rogue Factor, the new studio headed by the artistic director of very good action-RPG Deus Ex Human Revolution and its sequel, and Nacon presented their latest new generation project to us: HELL is US.
In a teaser trailer with an artistic touch that borrows influences from both Control and Death Stranding, the game depicts a particularly dark and intriguing universe.
Hell lies within all of us
The teaser trailer opens with a place of unfathomable blackness, occupied only by a kneeling character, at the mercy of another who threatens him with his weapon. The blow that brings down the first character in cold blood is accompanied by a psychedelic projection that immediately evoked Control for us.
This scene appears to be locked inside a strange reddish lifeform, right in the middle of a desolate land littered with both human and synthetic corpses. The teaser ends with a hooded figure, equipped with a drone and a massive sword that evokes to be mistaken that of Cloud in Final Fantasy VII.
Nacon presents this new Rogue Factor game in these words: “In an isolated country ravaged by civil war, discover the secrets of your past and face the mysterious disaster that has struck the region. Embark on a true adventure and explore the dark side of human nature. “A description that is furiously reminiscent of the world of Death Stranding.
HELL is US therefore feels like an open-world action-adventure game set in a particularly dark universe. Nacon indicates that the title of Rogue Factor is expected in 2023 on PC (via Steam and Epic Games Store), PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. It will be developed under Unreal Engine 5.
The rest is still an intriguing mystery.
