Ahead of its September 23 release, Diablo II Resurrected must go through a beta this month, whose departure date may have leaked on the Microsoft Store: August 17.

In any case, this is what was discovered by crimson4649 on Reddit a few days ago, screenshot in support, before Blizzard and Microsoft updated the page dedicated to the father of hack'n slash.

After a session of technical alpha rich in lessons for Vicarious Visions, the studio newly integrated into Blizzard had announced a forced passage to a beta version for their remaster of the monument that is Diablo II. This beta version should take place in two phases: the first for those who pre-ordered the game, and a second, open to everyone on eligible platforms.

According to an early announcement on the Microsoft Store, this first phase could open as late as next week. While this may prove plausible, given that the Diablo II Resurrected page was quickly updated to remove mention of that date, it doesn't exactly fit Vicarious Visions' plans.

The studio indeed confirmed last week that these two beta phases were to take place during weekends. However, the advanced date, then deleted, on the Microsoft Store would place this first beta phase in the middle of the week. Patience is therefore required to clarify this matter.

Either way, Diablo II Resurrected is due out in all its remastered glory on September 23 on PC (via Battle.Net), PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch.
