If the Microsoft Store had advanced an incorrect date for the beta of Diablo II Resurrected a few days ago, Blizzard just announced the official dates for the early access reserved for pre-orders and the open beta, as well as their content.

The father of the remastered hack'n slash will therefore be playable by those who pre-ordered it from August 13 to 16, while the open beta will take place from August 20 to 22. A busy schedule awaits heroes wishing to go in search of the Dark Ranger in this short period of time.

Evil is spreading soon… except on Switch

As previously announced by Vicarious Visions, the month of August will be the occasion twice to (re)discover Diablo II in a remastered version. Early access from August 13 to 16 will open this Friday, August 13 at 19:20 p.m. (Paris time). The open beta will welcome heroes on August 22 at the same time, and until August XNUMX. Early access will be available to all those who have already pre-ordered the game, in the version of their choice. Note that it will therefore not be possible to play on consoles with a pre-ordered version on Battle.Net.

Diablo II Resurrected will also be accessible during these two periods on PC (via Battle.Net), PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S, with cross-play and cross-progression activated. The Lord of Terror indeed seems to have disdained the Nintendo Switch, waiting for September 23. However, it will be possible for the lucky ones to play together up to 8 people, regardless of the chosen platform. The world will of course adapt to the number of heroes present, whether it's the stamina of the monsters, the quality of the loot or the amount of gold and experience obtained. Progress between the two periods will be retained, but no information has been shared as to its fate on the final version of the game.

Throughout these two periods, those wishing to share their experience with developers will be able to do so via the dedicated discussion areas. If there is anything to remember from the technical alpha, it is that the feedback from the participants has been very instructive for Vicarious Visions. No doubt these two new opportunities to try Diablo II Resurrected, and for the first time on consoles, will be of the same ilk.

Two new heroes join the fight

During the technical alpha of Diablo II Resurrected, three of the seven classes present in the expansion Lord of Destruction were available. We had the Amazon, the Barbarian and the Witch. For these early access and open beta periods, two new classes join the celebrations.

On the one hand we have the Druid, a class that arrived at the time via Lord of Destruction. She has a certain affinity with nature and with her inner beast, allowing her to metamorphose at will into various wild creatures. On the other side we have the Paladin. As its name suggests, this class of warrior specializes in the Light and its benefits in order to punish the abominations infesting Sanctuary.

In addition, if you have pre-ordered the game, you will receive in the coming days the pre-order bonuses attached to Diablo III. Among them: a transmog for the Barbarian class from the third game, inspired by the original appearance of that of Diablo II. The other pre-order bonuses are related to Mephisto, the Primal Demon of Hate: a pair of wings and a companion in his image.

While waiting for September 23, these two looming periods will allow fans of the original game and of hack'n slash in general to see what infernal wood the father of this genre is warming up to, making himself, a priori, more handsome than ever. .
