Despite its launch issues, fans are rallying on Diablo ii: resurrected and the modders are already getting to work.

The latter ignore the absence of TCP/IP support to offer the heroes of Sanctuary new options to defeat the forces of the Lord of Terror. For the time being, it is only possible to mod the game on PC and offline solo… at the risk of being banned from the game.

Play with the Diablo

The father of hack'n slash may be a monument of Blizzard, he would not have known such great longevity without the support of mods. Before its remastered version, many of them were created to improve the game experience by, for example, adding new classes and spells.

While fans of the original game lamented the lack of TCP/IP support, which makes it impossible to mod Diablo II: Resurrected in online multiplayer mode, that hasn't deterred some brave Horadrim who splurged on homemade mods. These only work in offline single-player mode, and currently only on PC.

However, a warning is in order, Blizzard may consider such files as malicious or dangerous and, therefore, decide to ban accounts that use these mods from the game. A magic to be handled with care, therefore.

Modifying the Path to the Underworld

Several mods have started popping up on Nexus Mods or ModDB. Some of them add an extra challenge to Diablo II: Resurrected's already high difficulty. It is thus possible to multiply by two, even ten, the number of enemies present in the world with Enemy Multiplier from SonicEdge or even 10X Monsters from madonnagwen.

For newcomers who find the game too difficult, it is also possible to play with item drop rates thanks to Guaranteed Drop Mod by SonicEdge or D2R Drop Mod by Sephiroth230686. Greggster990's Lower Resist mod removes the immunity of certain enemies to certain elements on higher difficulties, while granting them greater resistance to them. For those who can't stand seeing their character's helmet, deadjack133's Hide Helmet mod is the solution for now.

If Diablo II: Resurrected natively offers several "quality of life" type options, the Better SP mod by aryastark88 takes things even further: larger inventory and chest, faster walking and running speeds, larger capacity for projectiles, keys and tomes, new recipes for the Horadric cube, additional levels for skills and many other options are waiting for you.

Offline solo PC players will therefore have plenty of fun on Diablo II: Resurrected with these mods, of which it is easy to imagine that new ones will be put online in the coming weeks.
