Sensitive souls refrain ! The dismemberment of necromorphs will make a comeback in the remake of the first Dead Space. The developers returned to this technology on video.

When it was released in 2008, Dead Space had particularly marked the spirits thanks to its suffocating atmosphere, but also via its extremely bloody clashes. Indeed, in order to get rid of the horrible necromorphs, our poor Isaac had to dismember them. For the remake, this aspect has been reworked and above all improved. The EA Motive studio stopped on this dimension during a live dedicated to the game.

Isaac, that butcher!

Thus, the video below demonstrates the almost disturbing precision of the dismemberment on a poor necromorph who did not ask for so much. Each weapon will have different effects on the monster's body, and some will be more effective than others. In addition, and this is a novelty, the flesh of the enemies will be cut, then exposing their bones. The goal is to provide a visual clue to the player as to the effectiveness of his assaults. More generally, the damage will be better localized.

Of course, this is a tech demo and the end result might be different. Below, we can find the entire presentation to admire some sets from the remake and an extract from a gameplay phase in the zero-gravity room.

Dead Space will be released on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.
