Announced during E3 2014, Dead Island 2 still hasn't seen the light of day. However, the game has not been canceled either, and its release finally seems to be taking shape. Indeed, the launch could take place this year!

Since the release of its first trailer over seven years ago, Dead Island 2 has undergone some significant upheavals. Starting with its development studio… If Yager (Spec Ops: The Line) was initially in charge, Deep Silver then decided to exfiltrate the project to Sumo Digital in 2016. Bis repeated three years later, when the game passed in the hands of Dambuster Studios (Homefront: The Revolution). Thus, the current state of the game raised more than legitimate questions.

Zombies soon out of their graves?

Insider Tom Henderson offers us good news this week. According to its sources, the development of Dead Island 2 is progressing well. An announcement from Deep Silver could come quickly through a gameplay trailer. According to the main interested party, the plot of this second opus would begin on board a plane infested by zombies. This one would end up crashing in Hollywood, and the player would then have to survive in this iconic place.

In addition, Henderson specifies that Deep Silver would bet on a release of Dead Islands 2 during the fourth quarter of 2022. Of course, hypothetical concerns of development could lead to a postponement in 2023.
