CS:GO: a subscription offer for $1 personal statistics that is debating

CS: GO, FPS competitive flagship of Steam, launched a subscription for personal statistics at 1 dollar per month which is not unanimous.

CS:GO 360 Stats is the name of this new subscription service. To present it in more detail, Steam support has opened an FAQ page covering its features, how to manage its subscription and other points. But this announcement caused a real outcry within the community.

Detailed personal statistics… for a subscription

Until now, it was not easy to get detailed personal statistics on CS:GO. There was a history of recent matches, but it only kept data for a certain period. Otherwise, many sites, for some quite unofficial however, allowed, thanks to its Steam ID, to have more advanced statistics.

CS:GO 360 Stats was therefore intended to be the solution that many competitive players have been calling for to improve their performance. This service offers all the statistics for different game modes such as Competitive, Premier and Wingman. However, it does not take into account the statistics of non-competitive game modes.

Except that no one expected such a service to be accessible only through a subscription, even for a symbolic dollar.

A badly received ad

Following the announcement of this subscription service for personal statistics, many voices were raised. Many players believe, rightly, that such a service should be free.

Especially since the CS:GO 360 Stats FAQ page clearly states that the price currently displayed is only the introductory price. This therefore means that it could potentially be revised upwards in the future. Like any subscription system, this one will be renewed every month from the day of registration, unless the subscriber requests otherwise.

Another element that is not to the taste of the CS:GO community: it is imperative to subscribe to the service for the data to be recorded. Once the subscription is terminated or not continued, the same will apply to the collection of personal statistics.

A thorny situation to say the least and which affects a user base that is dear to CS:GO: the most competitive players. It remains to be seen if this will negatively impact one of Steam's most popular games, after nine years of almost unchallenged reign.
