Crystal Dynamics will lend a hand on the next Perfect Dark

This is an unexpected announcement! The studio in charge of the next Perfect Dark will partner with Crystal Dynamics to bring this project to fruition. Information that could well indicate the excessive ambition for the title of Microsoft.

Last December, the very young American studio The Initiative unveiled the first video of the remake of Perfect Dark. This first-person shooter with an emphasis on action and stealth rocked a whole generation of players when it launched on Nintendo 64 in 2000. This opus had already been remastered in 2010, and a rather forgettable prequel titled Perfect Dark Zero was released in 2005.

Waiting for concrete

This week, The Initiative announced its partnership with Crystal Dynamics for the development of Perfect Dark. The studio behind Tomb Raider (since the 2013 reboot), or even the recent (and much criticized) Marvel's Avengers will therefore support the team already in place. The reasons behind this merger have not been disclosed. However, we can imagine that this is an extremely ambitious project that will require the involvement of several dozen (or even hundreds) of developers.

Finally, The Initiative wanted to remind you that the development of Perfect Dark has only just begun. So you will have to be patient!
