The countdown has come to an end and it is no surprise that Relic Entertainment has just confirmed the existence of Company of Heroes 3. And despite its quite distant release period, the RTS has shared many details about its contents.
With this third opus, the saga will make a real return to its roots while refining its winning formula.

A monument of strategy games is back
The Japanese publisher SEGA will have taken its time before lifting the veil on Company of Heroes 3. Indeed, players had to wait eight long years between the release of the second opus and the formalization of a new episode this week. . And if the wait is still far from over, the information disclosed today is enough to reassure purists looking for the best strategy games.
First of all, as a general of the armies, the player will have the heavy task of leading his ground, naval and air troops to victory on the battlefield of the Second World War. This time, the Mediterranean coast is in the spotlight, with a particular focus on Italy and the deserts of North Africa.
Realistic graphics and destructible backgrounds will be part of the game thanks to the Essence Engine designed by Relic. The first gameplay trailer (available above) proves the work done in this area.

A busy program
In Company of Heroes 3, the player will have access to a wider range of strategic choices. Whether it's launching air assaults, establishing rear defenses or even setting up supply lines, you'll have to think of everything. A tactical pause system is also introduced in this episode. In addition, a large number of factions will be deployed in this title such as the Gurkhas of the Commonwealth or the special forces of North America. Others will be revealed soon.
In addition, the entire map of the single player campaign will be dynamic and the player can use it to his advantage (by collapsing buildings on enemy forces for example). Multiplayer is also planned. The animations of the soldiers, the artificial intelligence or the different reactions of the fighters have been completely modernized.
