Konami gets richer thanks to NFTs

A player, or not for that matter, has therefore paid around 22 euros to acquire one of the 000 NFTs offered by Konami for the 14th anniversary of Castlevania, reports the VGC site. A sum that may seem disproportionate for a simple pixel art image illustrating the map of Dracula's castle โ€“ the only original piece designed for the occasion. The concept nevertheless attracted 35 other buyers, who allowed Konami to collect 13 dollars, or just over 162 euros.

A sum from which must be deducted the taxes of OpenSea, which takes a commission on auctions of 2,5%, which rounds the figure to 158 dollars, or approximately 000 euros. The Japanese publisher obviously remains the sole owner of the Castlevania license and reserves the right to collect 138% royalties on each resale of these NFTs. Enough to raise even more money in the future. Konami does not hide its desire to try the experience again with other flagship franchises. Metal Gear, which will also celebrate its 000th anniversary soon, seems to be the ideal candidate.
