Like Fortnite and Epic Games, Activision seems more and more interested in the prospect of crossovers to punctuate the seasons of its various opuses. For season 3 of Warzone et Vanguard, Activision wants to hit hard. As he did with the Titans extracted from the manga The attack of the Titans, the publisher wants to make Caldera the scene of a duel at the top between Godzilla and King Kong.
During the past week, the treasure hunt to discover the surprise concocted by the developers of Warzone and Vanguard has gained in intensity. And quickly, everything seemed to converge on the arrival of the famous kaijū and the king of primates.
The battle of the monsters will take place on Caldera
It all started when a trailer was released on social media to promote Warzone Season 3, titled “Top Secret Weapons”. At the end of the extract, the soldiers come across a radio device that emits a sound as strange as it is disturbing. Neither one nor two, the players tried to decipher all of this to come up with a first idea: it would be the cry of Godzilla.
This hypothesis was then reinforced by a whole bunch of small details: the decoded cryptic message announcing that "The monsters exist", another stating "they are coming" as well as a series of visuals which have, little by little, dissipated the doubts and made realize that a cataclysm was preparing on the map of Caldera.
Activision's little game therefore ended yesterday, in the evening, since a monstrous trailer came to confirm the ultimate confrontation that the two most iconic beasts of cinema will engage in. Note that if season 3 of Warzone and Vanguard begins on April 27, the launch of Operation Monarch for the arrival of the two monsters will take place on May 11, 2022.
